For a little band who just got together for the sake of playing together and making music, 49 Winchester is making great music together. The sounds come from a blend of country and blue grass and folk-roots common in their native Appalachia. The band gets it’s name not from the Winchester Repeating Arms Company, as I first suspected, but because when the band was formed they happened to be on Winchester Street in the mountain town of Castlewood, Virginia.
Lead singer Isaac Gibson believes in hard work and dedication- and when you want something you have to put in more than minimal effort. “Everything Has To Be Built,” he told savingcountrymusic.com
The band has announced their latest record, “Fortune Favors the Bold” which will release May 13th. The single Damn Darlin’ is out on all streaming platforms now and is just an example of Gibson’s hard work. Here at Panchos place we are sure looking forward to seeing the rest of the album.
Damn Darlin’ is taking the country music out of Nashville and back to the people who live country music. The song was written by Blaine Gibson and produced by the band and Stewart Myers.
Damn Darlin,
Pancho.
