Do you ever do something and then as soon as you did it, you realize that it was a bad idea? I mean for instance tonight I actually read the directions on this cleaner that I purchased, said it was good on all surfaces, all surfaces meaning glass right? Well after all the scrubbing was done I realized that all surfaces did not mean glass. The compound had the windows on my pickup so streaked up that I may as well have driven home blind folded.
As I was having this near death experience however, a song came out of my speakers that I had never heard before. Once in a while Spotify adds some random something to one of my playlists and then once in a while Spotify gets it right and actually adds something I actually like.
The song was by an artist named Kathryn Legendre, an artist that until this evening I was unfamiliar with. As I was re- detailing all the glass in my truck, with actual glass cleaner, I took another listen.
Her single “One Long Sad Song” is definitely worth a listen or ten.
I soon found and followed her Spotify page and did a deep dive into her catalogue. A native Texan, Legendre writes most her own lyrics and performs her own songs. She is still keeping the country in country yet gives it modern guitar sounds, not to mention she has a beautiful voice. It sounds just like the music I love!
Last year Kathryn Legendre received a nomination for 2021 Austin Music Awards ‘Best Country Genre’ nomination. She is a regular in Austin Music Scene and has performed in several festivals including the Great Escape Festival in the UK.
Pancho.
